emerald . . . [a styled shoot]
This Spring I teamed up with some awesome local wedding professionals for a mini styled shoot to inspire brides and encourage them to be creative and incorporate personal touches in their big day! We decided on a fresh, spring palette featuring this year’s trend color: emerald!
We paired the vibrant hue of emerald with the equally popular mint green and soft touches of gold. Adding shades of a color – like green in this case – is such a sophisticated way to bring color to your wedding. Rather than choosing just one color, develop your event style by incorporating a bold color with a few accent colors that really let your main color shine. We think emerald is the perfect color to do just that! It’s a shade that can easily adapt to color palettes for all seasons.
For spring and summer, we chose to pair emerald with a stark white for the ultimate wow factor. This can be seen in both the decor and bride’s ensemble. A charming and simple vintage dress allowed us to have fun accessorizing with color and style. We also incorporated the green with the most amazing pair of heels – the bows couldn’t be more perfect! Mint green was incorporated throughout the table setting, which featured unique pieces from local stores and antique shops, creating a unique table scape.
The venue we used for our shoot (the beautiful Museum of Visual Materials) is not only one of our local favorites, but a perfect location to get that soft, glowing light. A unique or intimate venue also helps to build a memorable experience for your guests.
Of course decor and bridesmaid dresses are a great way to infuse your color into your wedding day – but you can also develop your color palette throughout the days leading up to your wedding. Flowers are such a great way to add texture and/or color. We chose to keep things clean and simple by featuring all white flowers from Meredith & Bridget’s Flower Shop – but kept things interesting by choosing a variety of different blossoms. Meredith & Bridget included some whimsical greens that kept things fun and fresh on the table and in the bouquet. Another great way to introduce your color palette to your guests is with your invitation – it’s your guests’ first impression to your big day and your opportunity to give them a sneak peek into the event style you have put so much effort into planning! Working with a custom stationer, such as Creative Confetti as we have here, can help you design an invitation that compliments your decor or color palette to create a cohesive look throughout your event. We also had custom drink flags, menus and a cute bride and groom chair bunting created to bring some personal touches to the day!
We hope this emerald-infused palette will inspire you and get you thinking of ways to accent with bold colors on your wedding day. When all else fails, choose professional event planners such as Serendipitous Events by Jessica who get your vision and can help you develop your ideas into a stylish affair to remember!
